Concept
We've been thinking about this work from time to time.
A delicate play, so innocent.
Turned into something painful, ironically unfunny.
And yet the memory remains tender
Concept written in 2020:
"Capture” is both an action and a title, a play on words.
We are captivated by the beauty of Mohrytsia’s wild grasses, and we capture that beauty in a trap. The trap, a self-moving temporary gallery, to momentarily snatch from the green sea (from the white noise) a small plant, a tiny detail, a trifle, to show (to ourselves, the viewer, the world) how beautiful it is, and then release it back into the sea.No plant was harmed!
As always, the most interesting part remained outside the frame.
