Concept

This was our first project realized at the Land Art Symposium in Moghrytsia, and it became a formative moment for our practice. The work marked our entry into the symposium’s artistic community and established a long-term relationship with the place and its context.
Once, this site was the bottom of an ocean. The immense weight of water that rested here is almost comparable to the span of time that has passed since. To comprehend this is nearly impossible. Those who once existed within that sea have long turned into dust and chalk, countless and indistinguishable.
What remains is not knowledge but a sensation. A distorted, almost surreal memory of the sea, preserved not in human recollection but in the material of the landscape itself.
